KAMPALA - She might not be a common fixture on the entertainment events circuit, but Naava Grey has over the years built a brand of proficient singer and performer. It is that brand that has kept fans following her music, even with less airplay currently. Recently, she staged a solo show at the Live at Fezah monthly do.

Fezah's event space at the Design Hub, Kampala was packed to near capacity, an indication of the fan base that religiously believes in her art. The onus was upon her to prove. Acclaimed for her vocal prowess, the former Tusker Project Fame contestant gave fans an intimate affair with her various love ballads.

From hits like Nteredde to less known singles like Nkwetaga, Naava, with impeccable back-up instrumentation, soared. Her voice and lyrics captured the audience and drove them to a fantasy world of love.

"Deep and mature" was the description of her music by one of the revellers. It was a field day for the lovers in the house. She served them the words. As crooned, they sang along. Even on South African language single, Soka Lemi folks were in sync with the rhythm.

But the crowd's favourite was Ninga Omuloge, on which the audience sounded like a choir. Towards the end of the show, upon the audience's request, the song was done again.
