, the FIFA Chief Women's Football Officer is scheduled to visit Uganda next month.

Bareman will be in Uganda to attend the 4th edition of the Sseninde Women's Development Cup, an initiative started by Jean Sseninde, a renowned footballer.

Bareman will be the Chief Guest at the tournament due to take place on August 24 at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara district. It will be her first trip to Uganda and East Africa at large.

In a post on Twitter, Bareman said she was excited about her upcoming trip to Uganda for the tournament.

"Very excited for my first trip to #Uganda to support women's football and @jeansseninde at the 4th edition of the @SWDFC1."

Bareman was appointed Chief Women's Football FIFA officer in 2016, and has been in office for three years.

Sseninde described Bareman's visit to Uganda as a great achievement for women's football in Uganda and the region.

"This will be her first visit to Uganda and East Africa which is a big step for women's football in Uganda and the region at large," Sseninde said.

At FIFA, Bareman is responsible for supporting and promoting the development of women's football as well as women in football.

She holds an extensive background in football administration, having played from childhood with guidance and support from her father, a coach.

Bareman is described as a strong advocate for change within FIFA and was the only female member of the organisation's 2016 Reform Committee.

The Sseninde Women's Development Cup is a grassroots football tournament set to inspire and create more opportunities for girls and women to play football.

It is the brainchild of 26-year-old Jean Sseninde, Uganda's only professional female footballer who plays for Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in the FA Women's National League South.

"I remember my heart being filled with joy I had never felt before, I knew then this grassroots tournament was special not for me but for all the women around the world. Women who have participated in it are now star footballers in Uganda. It's more than just a tournament," she stated on Twitter.
