Interim coach Abdullah Mubiru got a rude welcome on the Uganda Cranes' bench after his side fell 1-0 to Kitara Select in Bunnyoro tour in Hoima on Saturday.

Bumate FC striker, Vincent Kasoki's goal in the 43rd minute gave the hosts bragging rights.

The result gives Mubiru who replaced Sebastien Desabre more homework ahead of the Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifier tie against Somalia on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Mubiru believes, that he has a better idea on the areas to work on before ahead of the competition designed for players in the domestic league.

"It was a good game. We dominated both halves but failed to find the back of the net. The match has helped us to identify some of the weaknesses in the team," he said.

The Cranes featured some Africa Nations Cup stars including defender Timothy Awany, midfielder Tadeo Lwanga and striker Patrick Kaddu dominated the math but could not find the back of the net.

Kyambadde and Yusuf Ssozi nearly put the Cranes level but Kitara's defenders were alert.

In a desperate search of a win, Mubiru substituted the entire team in the second half, but the hosts held firm.
