Many children with special needs are neglected by their fathers, the chairperson of Special Children Trust, Samuel Mayanja has said.

Speaking during 7th Annual Awareness and Fun day for children with special needs at MTN Arena, Mayanja said such men usually shift the problem of producing a child with disabilities to the woman.

He said they have recorded many cases of men abandoning their own children and yet the cost of carrying out a DNA is expensive.  The cost of a DNA ranges from sh350, 000 to sh400.000

Mayanja added that his organisation has helped women get legal services so that they can be able to take their husbands to courts. He encouraged parents not to run away from such children, but to take good care of them.
