Church leaders have been urged to emulate the first missionaries' Christianity foundation as they build schools, churches, hospitals and evangelize.
Pastor Angel Uebert of Good News church based in Britain on arrival at ETM International Holy church at Entebbe in Wakiso district said preachers of today no longer follow the doctrines of Christianity.
"Preachers of today are selfish as they only think about themselves not the church. They only aim at making miracles in the church, forgetting about supporting Christians and their development," he said.
He said most of the schools, hospitals, and churches that were constructed have aged. During his two-day visit to Uganda Uebert urged the Christians to come and share his word of prayer at the Holy City.
He said even if you have a church one should not only think of depending on it to enrich themselves but should look at other sources of doing business to support the communities.
Brother Ronnie Makabai of ETM International Holy City church said each time Uganda gets visitors of such a caliber it gives an opportunity to the Christians to get solutions to issues in their churches.
He said if you get a miracle of God without faith you might lose your miracle. He said it is like a child going to school and a child cheats for him in the examinations that child should not come out and claim that he went to school.
He said it is time we went back to the foundation of Christianity so that miracles can happen and preach the word of God so that people practice what they have learnt in church.
He added that putting up churches should not run only as a business. He alluded to today's Christianity. "Today people think when you put a Church it is your business that nobody should take it away from your hands. In addition, one thinks he has to fight for the people who come to the church to ensure they are retained, "Said Makabai.
He said with people having this way of belief it retards development and faith of the Christians.
