Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) spokesperson, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, has implored party members tired of serving the party to exit, saying FDC is not a prison where they should be held permanently.

According to Ssemujju, the party has continued to grow and survive even after the death of its founders such as Sam Kalega Njuba and Suleiman Kiggundu.

"FDC is not a prison that there should be people who should stay in FDC permanently. What should be permanent is the institution, not human beings," Ssemujju said.

The Kira Municipality legislator, made the remarks on Wednesday at Parliament, during a live tweet chat by the Parliament's communication and corporate affairs department.

His remarks were triggered off by a question in which one of the journalists, asked Ssemujju about the recent launch of Gen. Mugisha Muntu's Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) political party, which saw many of the FDC party senior members such as Muntu, Alice Alaso, and Christine Abia among others cross over to ANT, quitting FDC.

"I don't have a problem with people leaving FDC when they have found another institution. Even those who are going to form parties such as ANT and others don't be surprised when they are walking out looking for another political affiliation," Ssemujju said.
