Wakiso Giants's new signing, goalkeeper Derrick Emukule, believes joining the club will help him develop his career.

The 22-year-old who signed a three-year contract from Ndejje University had a stellar season despite Ndejje University's relegation.

"This is a great step in my career as a young goalkeeper. Last season was a learning process in the division and with such an ambitious club so I am looking forward to more development. Being part of this project is already exciting and I will do all it takes to help the club achieve its goals," Emukule said.

"I believe Wakiso Giants is the perfect place for me to continue to develop as a player. I am looking forward to working with everyone, meeting the team and getting started," he added.

Emukule becomes Wakiso's first signing as the club beefs up its squad for the new Uganda Premier League season that will kick off in September.

Wakiso has also appointed Kefa Kisala as its head coach on two-year deal and he will be deputised by James Odoch.
