This was the second win for Kobs over Pirates out of the three circuits played in the ongoing Roke Telkom National 7s circuit that has eight circuits to be played this season.

The tightly contested final saw Isaac Rujumba give Pirates a 5-0 lead courtesy of a try before team skipper Ivan Magomu extended the lead to 7-0 with a conversion, but Kobs replied with two tries by Alhaji Manano and Nobert Okenyi to set a 10-7 half time lead.

In the second half, Pirates fought back, scored a try and conversion courtesy of Desire Ayera and Magomu to take a 14-10 lead.

However, Pirates' celebrations were cut short in the last 30 seconds when Okenyi got the ball and sprinted to the try line to end the game 15-14.

"We knew Pirates were a strong side but were kept pressuring them until we broke them down," Kobs skipper Edgar Sseruwagi said.

His Pirates counterpart Magomu said, "It is not yet over. We shall revenge in the Kitaka 7s."

The two sides have dominated this year's 7s circuit and have met in all the three circuits played so far with Kobs winning the Buffaloes Circuit 12-7, then Pirates won Buddu Circuit 12-17 and again Kobs took the Rujumba Circuit.

The national 7s circuit is sponsored by Roke Telkom and Guinness.
