Motor accident claims life of 46-year-old woman

According to Kigezi Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate the accident occurred on Tuesday at 6:00pm at Omukitengi trading centre, Kakore parish in Rubanda district.
ACCIDENT TRAGEDY
RUBANDA- Police are investigating circumstances under which a 46-year-old woman died and others injured in a motor accident.
The deceased, according to Police is Florence Kebirungi, a resident of Hamurwa, Rubanda district.
According to Kigezi Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate the accident occurred on Tuesday at 6:00pm at Omukitengi trading centre, Kakore parish in Rubanda district.
"It involved pedestrians and motor vehicle registration number UAW116A Toyota corona premo driven by the district councilor for Rubanda Aldrine Tibenda,"
He explained that the motor vehicle on its way from Rubanda to Kabale, went off the road and first knocked two children, Patricia Atuhwera six years and Tracy Kebirungi eight who were on the road side before hitting Florence who was getting out of the gate of her residence.
"The victims were all rushed to Rugarama Hospital in Kabale Municipality where the 46-year-old woman died moments later. Atuhwera is still admitted while her sister was discharged after being given first aid. The driver was referred to Mbarara Hospital," Maate said.
