Acholi Province extended their lead in Group C of the FUFA Drum Competition with a 2-1 win over Bunyoro 2-1.

Tito Okello who currently leads the scoring chart with three goals, notched a brace for Acholi, while Jasper Aheebwa of Mbarara City pulled one back for Bunyoro.

But the man of match performance produced by Acholi goalkeeper Derrick Ochan saw Acholi walk away with maximum points.

The competition that is played by the 16 provinces of Uganda is aimed at taking the game to the masses and its theme is ‘Celebrating Our Ancestry'.

Elsewhere, Anwar Mustapher scored both goals as Kampala Province lost their second consecutive game in Group A after falling to Tooro Province while Robert Sentongo notched a double as Buganda beat Sebei 2-1 to pick their second consecutive victory.

Buganda Province went down in the books of history as the maiden winners of the FUFA Drum tournament. They edged West Nile 2-1 on aggregate in the two legged final to win the inaugural edition of the inter- province championship. Government and FIFA are part of the sponsors for the competition.
