CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR MONITORING AND SUPERVISION OF SOCIAL SAFEGUARDS AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN (GBV-VAC) IN WORLD BANK ENERGY FUNDED PROJECTS

The Government of Uganda (GoU) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Grid Expansion and Reinforcement Project (GERP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultancy services to undertake Social Safeguard and Gender-Based Violence and Violence Against Children (GBV-VAC) monitoring and supervision in world bank energy funded projects.

The assignment is to monitor and report progress on the implementation of Environmental and Social Management and Monitoring Plans (ESMMPs) for construction of various project sub-components of the 314 km Lira - Gulu - Nebbi - Arua transmission line and associated substations at Kole, Gulu, Nebbi and Arua and GBV &VAC framework in the World Bank energy funded projects.

Assignment will cover monitoring and supervision of environmental, safeguards planning, Forest Restoration, Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), project Dispute and Grievance Resolution mechanism and Gender Based Violence and Violence Against Children (GBV and VAC) across the IDA Energy funded projects.
