It is Nakalembe's to lose in Entebbe Ladies Open

A strong field of competitors will face-off with Nakalembe including; Martha Babirye, Peace Kabasweka, Eva Magala, Lucia Alinda and Tanzania’s Vicky Erias who will all be chasing their first Entebbe title.
The strong field expected to grace this year's Castle Lite Entebbe Ladies Open this weekend will have one preoccupation; dethroning Irene Nakalembe, who, with four successive titles has turned this title into a birthright of sorts.
Speaking ahead of the two-day tournament on March 1-2, Nakalembe oozed the hunger of a player seeking their maiden triumph.
"I'm looking forward to winning the tournament. I'm working on some things most of which are mental. Physically I'm also working on a couple of things but it's more about the mental preparation," she said.
Whereas she has failed to win Uganda's biggest ladies competition-the Uganda Ladies Open, Nakalembe swore to hang on this after bagging her fourth last year.
"You can never get tired of winning. Winning is such a good feeling. You can get tired of losing, but not winning." Nakalembe stated.

Castle Lite unveiled a sh32m sponsorship for the tournament on Wednesday.
"As a brand, we are proud to partner Entebbe Club to bring to you this tournament. It is a demonstration of our continued support towards the game. We are always involved in the Entebbe monthly mugs, and last year Castle Lite was the main sponsor of the Uganda Open, and we would like to remain that extra cold refreshment for the players at the 19th hole," said the brand manager Robert Nsibirwa.
Over 200 golfers are expected to compete in the event which will have ladies of handicap 16 and below competing in the main event over 36 holes. Others of the handicap 17-24 and those of 25-36 will be judged on their net scores over 18 holes, while men will join the ladies on day two for the subsidiary event and will be playing off the ladies tee boxes as they have traditionally done so over the last six years to add fun and glamour to the game.
