MUBS extended its lead in the National Beach Soccer League over the weekend after defeating Stomers 7-6 in well contested game before playing out a 2-2 draw with Buganda Royal at Lido Beach in Entebbe.

The four points picked up on Sunday saw MUBS move to 20 points, two above second placed St Lawrence while Isabeti and Stomers are in third and fourth placed but tied on 16 points.

Douglas Muganga who struck five times against Stomers, was the best player for MUBS on the day.

MUBS who have won the league title before have been in fine form this season and are primed to repeat that feat having failed to make it to the playoffs last season.

Elsewhere, defending champion Isabeti humbled Buganda Royal 7-4. Somola Roch who extended his tally to 19 goals this season scored four times before Rica Byaruhanga's brace and an own goal from Deo Sengendo secured their fifth win of the season.

St Lawrence defeated Mutoola and Nkumba 6-2 and 6-4 respectively in the other league games played over the weekend.
