Oyam School awards best PLE pupils

Out of 41 candidates who sat for PLE at St Mary’s Junior school, Kamdini, five passed in Division One, and 27 second division. The school was 6th in Oyam district.

OYAM - St Mary's Junior School, Kamdini, a privately owned primary school located at Kamdini town council in Oyam district has awarded pupils for their outstanding performance in last year's Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

Oyam district has over the years been registering low numbers of pupils passing in Division One but with the increase in number of private schools, the district last year got 3.6% Division One.

Out of 41 candidates who sat for PLE at St Mary's Junior school, Kamdini, five passed in Division One, and 27 second division. The school was 6th in Oyam district.

Five best pupils received assortment of prizes including mattresses to enable them to start secondary school.

Most of the beneficiaries are those whose families have been affected by wild animals from Murchison Falls National Park and.

Emmanuel Ali, from Onea A village in Juma parish, Kamdini Sub County, who emerged the best PLE candidate in Kamdini Sub County and among best in Oyam district, expressed excitement over the prize.

"I attribute my performance to hard work and respect to my teachers. I am so delighted to have received a prize as the best pupil and I advise my fellow pupils to always feel free to ask their teachers and work hard," he said.

The school's director, Robert Ceaser Opudo congratulated the pupils for their performance and urged them to continue to shine for their own good.

Rev. Deacon, Denish Omara attached to Aber catholic parish who presided over the thanks giving ceremony appealed to parents, guardians to pay attention to their children's education.
