For the next few days, Nkumba University's volleyball youth team will put aside its excitement and show everyone what the players are made of when they face EST Volley in San Giovanni Al Natisone in Italy tonight.

They current UVF women's league champions arrived in Italy on Saturday for a youth tournament and a weeklong tour of Udine where they are being hosted by local team ASD Juvenilia.

The Tonny Lakony-led side hopes to use this opportunity to gain the necessary experience in order to give the players the opportunity to go professional and possibly play at the top level.

They go into that match with lots of confidence after beating Juvenilia's U14 in a friendly match on Sunday.

"We have settled in well and lucky enough for us it has been warm since we arrived here. We had a training match against the U14 of ASD Juvenilia who we defeated 3-0. We are ready for AST Volleyball tomorrow," Nkumba assistant coach Godwin Ssenyondo said.

EST Volley will be a different prospect for Nkumba because they have a more developed youth team.

The other factor they have to watch out for is the weather patterns in Italy.

Because it is still winter in Europe, they have to ensure the weather does not become colder as the week wears on, although, they have acclimatised well to the wintery conditions so far.
