The ten-year old, Daffodils Academy P.4 pupil will face off with a number of juniors from around the world in the three-day World Amateur Ranking points event.

Uganda budding golfer Keisha Kagoro heads to Malaysia on Friday to compete in the Kids Golf World Championship at the Tabjong Puteri Golf resort starting December 18-21.

Her qualification to the championship followed her participation in the 2018 South Africa Kids Junior African Challenge 2018 at the San Lameer in August where she made a podium finish (3rd).

The ten-year old, Daffodils Academy P.4 pupil will face off with a number of juniors from around the world in the three-day World Amateur Ranking points event.

The Championship offers World Amateur Ranking points and it is governed by R&A Rules and is sanctioned by MGA (Malaysian Golf Association) and Licensed by Malaysia Sports Keisha.

She will be the only Ugandan at the championship having solely qualified for the event. Her coach Becca Mwanja said he was confident Keisha will leave another mark in the championship.

Last year, she attended the St. Andrews juniors golf camp (Home of Golf in Scotland),a unique golfing experience for junior golfers to learn and expand her golfing knowledge, gain exposure and experience.

In October she registered her first victory on foreign soil when she emerged top at the Junior Golf tournament and Camp that was held at the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf resort in Naivasha, Kenya.

She started her golfing career in 2014 at the age of 6, and has participated in various local junior golfing championships in Uganda and the region including the US kids international tournament and camp held at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa which has since earned her a place on the Uganda Junior Team.
