Kisoro's afro music star John King electrifies Bafumbira fest

KAMPALA- Saturday December 1, will always be remembered following an electrifying performance by Kisoro's renowned Afro music star John Mbonigaba, popularly known as John King.

This was during the gathering for Kampala based Bafumbira. The event  dubbed "Bafumbira Fest"  took place at  Uganda Museum in Kampala.

Organised by Bafumbira World, the event drew thousands of people. It was a celebration of culture where activities such as local poetry, citing riddles punctuated the event. 

Local sorghum drinks also known as enturire, and other traditional foods were also enjoyed at the event.

 

The entertainment part begun with poetry which was followed by performance of artistes such as King Derio, Princess Louisa among others before the main event headliner John King hit the stage.

He performed songs such as Shelina, and Amarira Y'urukundo( tears of love) and  urupfu nurupfu among others, as they sang alongside him, which left revelers yearning for more.

He used the opportunity to announce his forthcoming concert in Kisoro slated for December 25 at Lake Mutanda Beach.

The event was graced by several dignitaries including Abel Bizimana, the LCV chairman Kisoro district, businessman Trevor Mugenga among  others.

Founded in 2016, Bafumbira World came up with Health Aging Initiative (HAI) where a number of elderly people in Kisoro district get free medical insurance.

The project is implemented by Bafumbira World alongside Mutolere Hospital in Kisoro and district leaders.
