WORLD - Over 40 Russian nationals have been denied entry to Ukraine after taking a flight from the Belarusian capital of Minsk, a spokesman for the Belarus customs authority told Sputnik on Tuesday.

Media reported earlier that 30 Russians were turned away on Monday by Ukrainian border protection officers after flying to Kiev with Belarus's Belavia flag carrier.

"Over 40 Russian citizens have been returned to Belarus since yesterday morning aboard Belavia's Kiev-Minsk flights, a total of four flights," Anton Bychkovsky, of the State Customs Committee, said.

He said Ukraine had not notified the customs authority about any changes to entry rules. Rail and road border crossings between the two neighbor countries continue to operate as usual, the spokesman added.
