Winning a record eleven national titles is enough for one to go into retirement, but not for Arthur Blick jr. who on Sunday sealed his eleventh National Motocross title.
The former national motocross team captain said after sealing this year's MX1 title with one race to go, motocross is his passion and he will stay active in the sport although not competitively.
Blick ‘s luck came early in the beginning of the season when title favourite Maxime Van Pee underwent surgery after he sustained an injury in August 2017 during the FIM Africa championship in Botswana.
Another title contender, Oliver Van Pee also sustained an injury in the fifth round of the national motocross, while Asaf Natan was irregular on the track due to a busy schedule.
"Winning my eleventh title is a gift from God, because I did not fight much like in the previous ten titles, but I'm grateful and I thank the good Lord Jesus," Blick stated.

"Many young riders have come up, but I'm not going anywhere. I will continue competing, but now focus turns to winning another national rally championship," the 42-year-old said.
Blick finished third in the seventh round of the Mountain Dew National Motocross championship at Garuga on Sunday collecting 47 points to make 343 points in overall MX1 class standings.
He attributed his success to his wife Noella Blick and family who have been very supportive and patient in his career.
"I have to thank my wife for the support. Being patient with situations when you take a tough decision to forego the children's tuition fees in order to buy a piston, a ream or tyre for the bike in preparation for an event," he noted.
To win the championship he tallied 343 points, 69 ahead of defending champion Maxime Van Pee on 274pts and Asaf Natan 212pts who finished second and third respectively, other winners will be decided in the last event next month.
