XFM street bash: DJ Kasbaby to deliver Afro-beats

DJ Kasbaby started his deejaying journey six years ago, while in his S6 vacation and continued with it at UCU where he would play at house parties and for friends doing favours.

David Kassami aka DJ Kasbaby was born 28 years ago. His ancestral home is in Fort portal, but he has lived most of his life in Kampala where he was born.

DJ Kasbaby holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT) from Uganda Christian University, Mukono and it was at Casablanca bar in Mukono that he got his first deejaying job.

DJ Kasbaby started his deejaying journey six years ago, while in his S6 vacation and continued with it at UCU where he would play at house parties and for friends doing favours.

"At one point in my career journey, I used to play for free just to get my name out there," he recollects.

"It was in my second year at UCU that I got my first job at Casablanca bar, now I get paid my worth," he adds.

You will find DJ Kasbaby playing every Wednesday at the Wickidi night or better still wicked Wednesday at Panamera bar and Saturday night at Liquid Silk Naalya lighting up the fever Saturday.

Also every first Friday of the night, he is at sky lounge for urbanoise and every first Sunday of the month at the Alchemist for the Cîroc Pineapple brunch.

He particularly loves Nigerian music, but will mix it up with Kenyan, Tanzanian and Ugandan music. Just in case you are wondering what sets DJ Kasbaby apart from other DJs, he is the master of Afro-beat that is his specialty.

DJ Kasbaby is one of the fastest raising DJ and most versatile. At the X-FM street bash the biggest street party in Kampala this year, you can only expect to dance your shoes off.

"You definitely have to dance when am playing. I am very entertaining and the party people always tell me. I want everybody to be happy, to dance; I promise to deliver good vibes come October 20, 2018, at the X-FM street bash," he says.
