Express coach Kefa Kisala was impressed with the performance of his players despite playing to goalless draw with URA FC in the opening game in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Muteesa II Memorial Stadium in Wankulukuku.

"The character and mentality was good since they lived up to the task. We only failed to convert our chances and I believe we shall continue improving in that area. But mind you, we are building a new and if we managed to put up such a display then I believe we are good to go," stated Kisala.

Express had themselves to blame after missing a lot of scoring opportunities especially in the last 20 minutes of the second half. Tony Odur, Michael Birungi, Ibrahim Kayiwa and Eric Kambale are some of the players that failed to convert their chances.

The game that was supposed to kickoff at 4:30pm commenced at 5:00pm due to a lack of enough security.

However, URA coach Sam Ssimbwa was not impressed with the display of his players.

"We didn't deserve to get a point since we didn't play well. The players were very fatigued and you could see it on their faces. We played on Friday and eight of my players also took part in FUFA Drum (competition). I requested FUFA to play the game on Sunday after FUFA Drum but they refused. In fact it was by God's mercy that we picked a point, but Express was supposed to take all the three points," noted Ssimbwa.
