Background and Objective:

In a joint coordination with the Ministry of Local Government (MLG), the German Cooperation programme of "Promoting Rural Development" (PRUDEV) is aiming to improve the agriculture-based development of the rural economy in selected regions of Northern Uganda. One of the objectives is to increase the market and entrepreneurial focus of small holder farmers. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise of the German Government and a provider of international cooperation services for sustainable development with over 50 years of experience in a wide variety of areas, including economic development and employment, water, energy and the environment, and peace and security. GIZ PRUDEV is looking for professional local and regional service providers to strengthen the capacities of two Shea butter processing farmer organisations to improve on management and governance for providing demanddriven services that meet the needs of their memberships and to operate as viable business entities, considering key concepts of sustainable development. Beneficiaries will be small-holder farmers from two farmer organisations in the Acholi sub-region.
