Six foreign motocross riders, two from South Africa and four from USA will challenge Ugandans on their home turf during the sixth round of the Mountain Dew National motocross championship in Busiika.

The September 30 event at the Uganda Motorsport Arena Busiika is expected to be one of the most entertaining in recent times.

Four foreign riders will take part in the MX1 class alongside top Ugandans; Maxime Van Pee, Asaf Natan, Arthur Blick Jr and Aviv Orland.

In the MX85cc, Jonathan Mulimi of South Africa and Preston Boespflug of USA will take on Fortune Ssentamu and Africa Champion Stav Orland.

"We want to give exposure to these riders by bringing professionals and international riders to Uganda," Event manager, Evas Orland said  Wednesday at a press conference at Lugogo National Council of Sports offices.

"It is also all about motivating Ugandan riders and preparing them to compete well on the international scene."

She explained that foreign riders start arriving in the country Thursday and will take time to train on the Busiika track before the event.

Team captain Maxime Van Pee said this event has given local riders an opportunity to learn new technics from professionals which is a good test for them ahead of the second round of the FIM Central Africa motocross challenge due December in Nairobi.

FMU president Dusman Okee lauded UMX and SpeedWay Motorsport Club (SMOC) for the huge investment in the facilities that can now host more than three events at once.
