Notice from GIZ

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE 

In a joint coordination with the Ministry of Local Government (MLG), the German Cooperation programme of "Promoting Rural Development" (PRUDEV) is aiming to improve the agriculture-based development of the rural economy in selected regions of Northern Uganda. One of the objectives is to increase the market and entrepreneurial focus of small holder farmers. 

Deutsche Gesellschaft !Or Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise of the German Government and a provider of international cooperation services for sustainable development with over 50 years of experience in a wide variety of areas, including economic development and employment, water, energy and the environment, and peace and security. 

GIZ PRUDEV is looking for professional local and regional service providers to strengthen the capacities of beneficiaries in basic economic/ business skills by facilitating the acquisition of knowledge and change in attitude towards their operations, e.g. enabling smallholder farmers and their organisations to make informed decision on their range of crops and on marketing. Beneficiaries will be smallholder farmers from 24 selected farmers groups and associations from the Acholi and Lango sub-regions.
