Boda boda motorist dies in hit and run accident

The Police identified the deceased as Robert Tumushiime, a resident of of Rwabara village, Murora sub-county, Kisoro district.

Kisoro Police has started hunting the truck driver who knocked dead a boda boda motorist on Sunday evening at Busega round about in Kisoro Municipality.

The Police identified the deceased as Robert Tumushiime, a resident of of Rwabara village, Murora sub-county, Kisoro district.

According to Kigezi Police Spokesperson Elly Maate, the incident occurred on September 16 at around 8:20pm, involving motor vehicle registration number UAQ296E Isuzu forward. The driver who is yet to be identified, disappeared immediately after hitting motorcycle registration no UEO 935.

"Police visited the scene and the body was taken to Kisoro Hospital mortuary for postmortem, and both the motor vehicle and motorcycle were taken to the police station as investigations continue to establish the cause," said Maate.

He said Tumushiime was loans officer at Mubuga Savings and Co-operative Society.
