The teams left Thursday for the two day event by road.

Pool A: Mwamba, Mean Machine, Kabras, Black Pirates

Pool B: Homeboyz, Nakuru, Menengai Oilers, Blue Bulls

Pool C: Uganda, Impala, Northern Suburbs, Harlequins

Pool D: KCB, Nondescript, Kisii, Strathmore Leos

After winning all the local trophies, Black Pirates will over the weekend gauge their strength against Kenyan sides in the Cristie7s in Nairobi on Saturday and Sunday.

The Nile Special Premier Rugby League, Uganda Cup and Guinness National 7s series champions are seeded in pool A against Kenya's Mwamba, Mean Machine and last year's winners Kabras Sugar.

"We want to test our boys ahead of next season, which begins next month and I think they will get good exposure in Kenya which will be good for our club and country," club secretary Mike Ndiema said.

He added that despite winning all the trophies at stake this season, there is a lot his boys need to learn because next season will be more challenging.

"I know as a team, we shall face challenge from all sides that will be out to stop us from winning them again, so we have to prepare for such hard times," Ndiema explained.

Pirates will also be joined by the Uganda's emerging 7s team which is seeded in pool C alongside Impala rugby club, Northern Suburbs and hosts Harlequins.

According to rugby manager Yayiro Kasasa, the move to have the Emerging Rugby Cranes 7s team participate in Kenya circuits is to build the players confidence as they prepare to join the  senior side.

The teams left yesterday for the two day event by road.
