The national Beach Soccer team Sand Cranes captain Somoka Roch is confident that his side has what it takes to win the first leg of AFCON 2018 Beach Soccer qualifier against Ivory Coast this Sunday at Spennah Beach, Entebbe.

"The mood is so good. By Sunday every player will be ready for the game .The attitude is good and players are responding well to the coach instructions and tactics and we are sure we are going to bring down Ivory Coast,"stated Roch.

After Sunday match, Uganda will travel for the return leg between September 21-23 in Abidjan.

The winner after the two legs will qualify for the finals scheduled for December, 9 to 14 in Cairo, Egypt.

The 2018 tournment will be the second edition of the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations since the current name was adopted in 2016.

Previously, beach soccer tournaments organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) were known as the CAF Beach Soccer Championship. Senegal are the defending champions.

The tournament will act as a qualification tournament for African teams to the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
