The exuberant lifestyle of star batsman Zephania Arinaitwe does not seem to take away from his game. The 16-year-old is full of life and can still be lethal with the bat.

Arinaitwe continues to grow into a well accomplished right hand batsman and certainly his greater years are ahead of him.

In a brutal manner, he knocked an overwhelming century of 193 runs when the travelling Ugandans defeated Swamibapa by 212 runs Wednesday at Ruaraka Sports Club.

The opener fell short of a mere seven runs to attain a double century in an exciting opening fixture for the U19 Cricket Cranes.

Perry Wazombe weighed in with a half century of 57 runs from 28 runs as the scoreboard kept moving to set a daunting task for the chasing pack.

Swamipaba's opening pair of Harendra Kerai and Divyan Hasai scored 26 and 22 respectively but this was not enough to undo Uganda's 293.

Action continues Thursday with Uganda entertaining Kanbis U19 at Ruaraka Sports Club.

Uganda is using the tournament to prepare for next year's ICC Africa U19Division One Qualifier.
