LIVING IN THE LIGHT OF GOD

"Always endeavor to spare time and meet other Christians in fellowship. Christianity is not a private affair. It is a living faith that we are obliged to share with others. There is nothing like secret Christianity. You are thus required to go out and live out your Christianity, proclaim the faith and also share it with the brethren."

These were the words of the Assistant Bishop of Kampala Diocese (Anglican), the Rt Rev Dr Hannington Mutebi. He was presiding over a Confirmation Service at St Francis Chapel, Makerere University on Saturday, July 28. The Prelate confirmed 58 students from Makerere College during the service.

Mutebi advised the students he confirmed to allow Christ to enter their lives and give them protection.

"After being confirmed into the Christian faith, you are supposed to live as God's people. You must, therefore, live for Christ and in Christ, who will protect you by his blood. If you don't live in Christ, you will be corrupted by the earthly pressures that include pornography, homosexuality, materialism, corruption, deceit, hatred, anger, etc. Confess your sins. Be ambassadors of Jesus. Proclaim his saving grace to others," Mutebi said.

The function was also graced by the Chaplain, the Rev Onesmus Asiimwe, who encouraged the newly confirmed students to bear fruits that reflected their religious maturity.
