The World Lacrosse Foundation representative in Uganda, Jasper Aligawesa said they hired Ginneger and Allan because of their experience.

American lacrosse coaches Peter Ginneger and his assistant Mike Allan arrived in the country on Tuesday to manage the national team that is preparing for the world Championships in Israel starting July 12 to 22.

The World Lacrosse Foundation representative in Uganda, Jasper Aligawesa said they hired Ginneger and Allan because of their experience.

"The problem with African teams has always been the lack of experienced coaching staff, and that is why we went for Ginneger who has 40 years of coaching experience and his assistant Allan who has coached for 20 years," Aligawesa stated.

"We are optimistic that they will deliver great results," Aligawesa who is also the former National Council of Sports (NCS) Secretary General said.

The two coaches believe that they will be able to set up a good team that will be competitive at the world championships.

"We are here to prepare Team Uganda for the world championships in Israel and we expect a good performance there," Ginneger stated.

"I know we have only one week to fine tune the team, but am not worried because this is my fifth time here and the last time I came, we trimmed the team to the final 23 man squad from the 50 training team."

He added that what they are going to do is to build a system of play in the team and a team few structures.
