SC Villa fans name committte to engage FUFA on their elections

KAMPALA - SC. Villa fans have set up a seven man committee to follow up on their petition to FUFA as they look for ways of streamlining the way the club is governed and run including the pending elections.

The fans petitioned FUFA to prevail over the incumbent club president, Ben Misagga who is organising elections outside laid down club constitutional procedure according to the fans.

The committee includes Haruna Jjagwe, Emmanuel Bukedde, Godfrey Kasiita, Rebecca Sanyu, Daniel Ntale, Julius Mugalu Luyimbazi and Jane Katende.

Close to 400 fans converged at Villa Park on Sunday to forge a way forward in the middle of looming elections organised by Misagga who they accuse of sidelining the fans.

The meeting attracted a number of old Villa fans die-hard fans like Godfrey Kasiita and former players including Gibby Kalule who also has ambitions of leading the club as president.

Another presidential aspirant Denis Mbidde also attended and vowed that the elections that are being organised by Misagga would not take place.

"These are the true Villa fans and we have called them in accordance with the legal means and legal statutes of our club.

"Those things that are being done in hiding have no consequence for the club; this thing is done in the open so that we know who the true Villa fan is because we are a family," Mbidde stated.

The committee will report back on Sunday after engaging FUFA with also the possibilities of engaging courts of law on whatever they deem as illegalities and possible crimes going on.

"Those elections being organised will never take place because they are not Villa elections. The true Villa fans are here and don't know what is going on else where," Mbidde said.

Sc Villa fans leader Ndawula was optimistic the committee would return with good news from FUFA.

"We expect the committee to deliver by engaging FUFA and follow up on our petition with them.

"They have seven days in which to report back. We want to know FUFA's stand on the illegalities going on regarding elections and why the law was not followed because they are the custodians of all the football laws in the country, so we expect the committee to return with positive feedback that will takes us forward," Ndawula reasoned.

"Someone is organising elections but he has not engaged the congress which is the supreme organ of SC Villa, fans branches are not registered for the elections as per the club constitution.

"This is our plan A and if nothing comes out we shall embark on plan B because there are even national laws that can help us streamline our activities, we cannot allow someone to run the club on forged documents," Ndawula stated.
