REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES - FIRMS)

The Government of Uganda has received for a loan from the African Development Fund (ADF) towards the cost of the Multinational Uganda - Rwanda Project. It is intended that part of the agreed loan proceeds shall be used for payments under the contract for consultancy services to Undertake Road Safety Audits and Road Safety Sensitization, Education and Awareness Campaign for Busega - Mpigi Expressway (23.7Km).

The services to be performed under the project shall comprise carrying out Road Safety Audits (RSAs) at the design review stage, at the pre-opening and post-opening stages as well as carrying out Road Safety awareness/sensitization about the dangers of road accidents to road users after completion of the Busega-Mpigi expressway (23.7km) road works.

The project objective is to make the new roads as safe as possible before construction is started and before accidents occur. Road safety audits assess how the road will perform, focusing on the behavior of all road users.

The audit identifi es any road safety defi ciencies and recommends possible solutions. Road Safety Audits are to be carried out by professionals with road safety engineering experience, working independently of the design/ supervision team.
