LIRA- The Pakistani Community living and doing business in Lira, yesterday hosted thousands of people to a grand dinner at Faizane Madina Mosque located at Lira Primary School.

The dinner was held after prayers led by Sheikh Yusuf Balinda, a preacher at Faizane Madina Mosque.

The president of the Pakistani Association in Lira, Sardar Muhammad Atiq Nawaz, said they decided to have the dinner with both Muslims and Christians because of the holy month.

He said in many Muslim countries, it is done daily and they, as Pakistani community, are also trying to make it in Lira to benefit people who are mostly poor and cannot afford food to break the fast.

The function is coming ahead of Eid al-Fitr, an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
