SC Villa and Vipers settled for a goalless draw in the first leg of  the semifinal in the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Sunday evening at Wankulukuku stadium. 
 
The game that was marred with fans, was filled with violence that saw the intervention of the Police to cool down the situation. Villa dominated the first half while Vipers had an upper hand in the second half.
 
The sides will meet again in the return leg on June 5 at St Mary's stadium,Kitende. 
 
Elsewhere, Synergy will take on holders KCCA in the second semifinal on Monday in Masaka. Three days later they will travel to Kampala for the return leg at Startimes stadium,Lugogo.
 
 
This comes at a time when Stanbic Bank injected sh300m to be the 2017/2018 Uganda Cup sponsors.
 
 
The sponsorship the prize money for the competition was raised to sh90m. The winner will walk away with sh30m, runners up sh20m, semifinalists sh10m each while the quarterfinalists will each receive sh5m.
 
 
This year's final will be hosted in Kumi Municipality on June 9. But FUFA is yet to come out with final venue after inspecting Boma play-ground, Kumi Technical School and Bishop Maraka College fields. Winners of the Stanbic Uganda Cup represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.
