KAMPALA - Boris Aguma's loss to Goran Markovic in the second round of the ITF Uganda Futures F4 brought his tournament to an end but also armed him with experience.

Unlike some of his counter-parts that made it to the main draw by way of wild cards, he worked his way through two tough qualifiers before he   earned his place in the draw.

After defeating Nigeria's Joseph Imeh in the first round on Tuesday to earn his First ever ATP point, he unfortunately run straight into the path of Goran Markovic who handed him a 6-0, 6-2 defeat.

Unlike his previous opponent, Aguma really did meet his match. The tournament's  third seed was punished for his naiveté.

"I will take a lot of experience from this tournament because I played a top guy. He is the third seed and has played about 100 futures to my 4," he said.

For his effort, Aguma will collect a modest $350 prize money which he is keen to invest in his sports equipment.

"I will receive about $350 and I am going to use that money to buy equipment like rackets, shoes and uniforms," he explained.

His biggest target is to improve his craft as he wishes UTA will continue to host such tournaments that will help improve the game and give them good competitions.

Mugabe loses too

Meanwhile, Duncan Mugabe fell to Italian Marco Miceli (6-4 6-4) as he became the second causality of the second round. Mugabe came close to breaking his opponent but didn't convert his chances. His opponent pushed until he found an opening to close off the first set.

Mugabe was broken early in the second set but fought back to level the set at 4-4. The Italian turned the screw and broke back immediately to lead and he served for the match quite comfortably.
