Risky boat transport putting lives in danger

Passengers in a motor boat at Bukungu landing site in Buyende district, destined for Lango region get ready to set off. Few of them are wearing life jackets.

Boats are overloaded with bags maize flour and "mukene"  destined for northern region.

Ferrying passengers in such a manner is outlawed. However, the boat operators are adamant to comply, despite the accidents that happen quite often.
