Olila High School almost had a near perfect campaign last season. As a club they won the revered Mehta Premier League, but as a school, their journey in the Schools Cricket Week ended at the semifinals.

They are now determined to undo last season's doubts in the ongoing week long contest that started Sunday at three venues; Lugogo, Budo and Kyambogo.

It was early pickings for the Soroti outfit defeating Mt Rwenzori by 92 runs Sunday at Kyambogo oval.

Proscovia Alako and Hope Akiteng combined for 37 and 13 respectively on olila's way to 107.

Mt. Rwenzori came short on chasing the game as they were all out for just 15 in 7.5 overs. Mildred Anyigo and Rachael Achan impressed with the ball claiming 3 wickets apiece.

Meanwhile, defending champions Jinja SS got their campaign off to a flyer with an 8 wickets win over Mt Rwenzori at Lugogo. Rita Musamali, Immaculate Nakisuyi and Grace Immalingat pickerd 3,2 and 2 wickets respectively. Jinja SS had earlier got a walk over against Kings College.

In group B, Maria Mwesigwa claimed an overwhelming 5 wickets as Ndejje SS defeated Kilembe SS by 8 wickets at Budo Grass.

The action continues today with Jinja SS and Olila High School in a repeat of last season's semifinal at Gayaza.
