Compassion warns public over massive job scam

The jobs being wrongly advertised include office supervisors, administrators, accountants, drivers, messengers and cleaners.

If you apply for a job at Compassion International-Uganda basing on a recent online media advert, you will be doing it at your own risk.

Compassion-Uganda has warned that unscrupulous people have hit social media platforms calling upon members of the public to apply for jobs under an ongoing massive recruitment exercise.

The jobs being wrongly advertised include office supervisors, administrators, accountants, drivers, messengers and cleaners.

In a public statement issued on Thursday, Lenny Mugisha Compassion national director said they have not advertised any job offers and that they do not use social media platforms to recruit field staff and workers for their Church partners.

The New Vision has learnt that those who advertised the jobs at Compassion were asking job applicants for a small fee to be considered for the lucrative job offers.

Due to desperation as a result of the increasing unemployment among the youth in Uganda, fraudsters have resorted to social media platforms to cheat unsuspecting Ugandans.

Mugisha asked any member of the public who is contacted for a job in Compassion International-Uganda to report to the local authorities or nearby Police Station.
