COURT

JINJA - The Rwenzururu King, Charles Wesley Mumbere, has today fulfilled the mandatory court order by reporting for his routine bail extension.

Mumbere appeared before the Jinja High Court deputy registrar, Jesse Byaruhanga, who extended his bail to next month.

Flanked by his wife, Agnes Ithungu, Mumbere appeared in court together with his prime minister, Johnson Thembo Kitsumbire and the six juveniles who were all released on bail on separate dates last year. However, they were all ordered to be reporting every first Monday of the month, which they did today.

Much as Mumbere had since his release been commuting in a Police Pajero to appear in court, today, he was brought in a police pick-up that was driven by a female police officer.

He shared the hind seat with his wife amid tight security of both armed anti-terrorist Police and soldiers.
