COURT

KAMPALA - Makindye chief magistrate Elias Kakooza has adjourned the hearing in which city socialite Bryan Kirumira aka Bryan White is accused of attempted murder after his lawyer told court that he is sick.

Procecution alleges that Brian White, 32, on the night of December 13, 2017, while at his residence in Munyonyo-Buziga, Makindye division in Kampala district attempted to murder Victor Bitwire, a businessman after an argument.

Bryan White is accused together with his bodyguard, Corporal Thomas Okot Ike, 28, a policeman attached to Kabalagala Police Station.

However, Okot, who is attached to the Police's Crime Intelligence directorate, attended court when the case came up for hearing on Monday morning.

John Bulungu, Brian White's lawyer told court that his client was unwell and could, therefore, not make it to court, but said his sureties were present.

The magistrate said court would give its final position on the case when it comes up again on April 24.

However, Bulungu told journalists that the two parties, Bryan White and Bitwire had reconciled and the Director of Public Prosecutions was considering withdrawing the case.

Bryan White and Okot were remanded to Luzira on December 31 last year, but were later released on bail on January 8.
