MUKONO - Hundreds of Christians from both Anglican and the Catholic churches have thronged Wantoni town where the way of the cross started from.

The Anglicans were led by the Bishop of Mukono Diocese, James William Ssebaggala while Catholics were under the leadership of Bishop Christopher Kakooza of Lugazi Diocese.

The bishops, flanked by their juniors were the first to carry the cross from Wantoni junction on Wantoni-Katosi road to St. Dunstan Church.

From there, the reverend sisters from the Catholic Church and the women clergy from the Anglican Church carried the cross to St. Paul Church on Kampala-Jinja highway.

Msgr. Richard Kakooza of Lugazi Diocese asked Christians not to take this year's way of the cross for granted, but to pray to God so that he can help the evil doers repent.

"Uganda is marred with a lot of kidnaps and murders. Let us pray to God so that such evils come to an end," he said.
