The Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has wished his subjects and the people of Uganda a happy and peaceful Easter festive season.

According to a statement from the office of the Kabaka, the king also congratulated Christians upon successfully completion of the lent period.

"We have finalised this year's lent period and we congratulate those who went through it peacefully and joyfully. In the same way, we console those who have lost their loved ones during this period and we pray that their souls rest in eternal peace," The Kabaka said in his Easter Message statement.

The Kabaka noted that Christ's raising from the dead, gives Christians hope that when they die, they will rest peacefully in eternity.

He however implored Christians to meditate about their lives and cement their belief in God and relationship with fellow human beings.
