German, Belgian nationals die in Kampala

KAMPALA - Police in Kampala have launched investigations into the death of two Europeans; a German and Belgian nationals that occurred on Friday and Monday.

Police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, identified the German as Hans Jurgen Vallant, 64 and the Belgian as Eric Yvomr, 54.

Hans Jurgen Vallant died on February 23 as he was being taken to Nsambya Hospital for medical attention, while Eric Yvomf died on February 26.

Kayima said Jurgen's body was taken to Mulago Hospital and that a postmortem report confirmed that he died of heart attack.

According to Joseline Mupfasoni, Yvomf's female friend, he allegedly committed suicide.

A few weeks ago, two foreign national died in two separate incidents in Kampala and in northern Uganda.

Tersvouri Toomajuha Petteri, a 42-year-old Finish, died at Pearl of Africa Hotel on February 8, Alex Sebastian, a 41-year-old Swede, died at Sheraton Hotel on February 6.

The Police said the toxicology report indicated that the Swedish and Finnish nationals died of chemicals.
