Musician Mayinja dismiss accident rumour, says he is safe

Since last night, rumours have been circulating on social media that mayinja was involved in a serious accident at Kalongo trading centre on the Mityana-Mubende highway, and was rushed to Mubende Hospital in a critical condition.

KAMPALA - Local artiste Ronald Mayinja has dismissed rumours that he was involved in a fatal accident on Saturday night in which he was seriously injured.

Since last night, rumours have been circulating on social media that mayinja was involved in a serious accident at Kalongo trading centre on the Mityana-Mubende highway, and was rushed to Mubende Hospital in a critical condition.

By Sunday morning, tension further rose as Mayinja's telephone numbers were off and the public could not tell his whereabouts.

However, his colleague, Mesarch Ssemakula, was the first to clear the  air, saying although the telephone number was off, he was sure that Mayinja was okay.

"We had music show in Kayunga and we returned safely after the show. He also did not have any rip in Mubende and Kibaale," Ssemakula said.

Later, also Mayinja spoke out and denied having been involved in an accident.

"I wonder how such information started circulating and what the objective could have been. I assure my fans that I am fine," Mayinja said in a telephone interview.

Mayinja promised his fans that he is ready to contintue entertaining them and will attend all the music concerts planned.
