US gives Nakawa Mayor study tour

The prestigious project entitled “US State and Local Government for Emerging African Leaders” starts on March 26 and ends on April 13.

The Mayor of Nakawa Division, Ronald Balimwezo has been selected to participate in an international visitor leadership project in the United States.

The prestigious project entitled "US State and Local Government for Emerging African Leaders" starts on March 26 and ends on April 13.

According to the invitation dated February 6, participants in the project will gain a deeper understanding of the pluralistic nature of the United States through exposure to all levels of the political system and key social and economic issues such as climate, environment and health care.

"Visitors will also explore the role and impact of various actors and influences on the United States foreign and domestic policy formation such as government bodies, NGOs, academia, and the media," the invitation read.

The invitation signed by Niles Cole the cultural affairs officer at the United States Embassy in Kampala further read, "I hope you will be able to accept this invitation and that you find the experience to be both personally enriching and professionally rewarding."
