KIBOGA - The Kiboga district leaders have disagreed on the alleged questionable stands under which some of the district roads were constructed and rehabilitated recently.

It was a bitter verbal exchange yesterday between the Kiboga East MP, Dr Keefa Kiwanuuka and the district chief administrative officer, Sarah Kalungi, over the matter.

This was during a tour of the purportedly shoddily done roads across the district.

Keefa, who is also the chairperson of the district roads committee, said he had received several complaints from residents over incomplete roads and those that were poorly constructed.

But, when I asked the chief administrative officer and the engineers to explain during the tour of the roads, it resulted in a serious argument," Keefa said.

The MP vowed to follow up and establish the actual accountability of how over sh.90m planned for roads in the last quarter were used and yet the works on the earmarked roads were not done satisfactorily.

The roads in question include Lunya-Nsala in Lwamata sub-county, Jokero-Kakiibwa in Muwanga sub-county and Mukiise-Budimbo in Kapeke sub-county.

The Kiboga district council roads committee chairperson, Robert Yamani, said most of the district roads require maintenance.

Keefa called for calm pledging that all the mistakes done on the roads would be rectified.

"Despite the moments of disagreement with the MP, we shall sit together to identify the gaps and they are rectified for the wellbeing of our people and the district," he said.
