South Ankole Diocese celebrates 6th anniversary

NTUNGAMO - Over 500 missioners of South Ankole diocese have been commissioned by the diocesan bishop Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe.

This was during the anniversary celebrations to mark six years of South Ankole diocese.

The function took place at St. Mathew Cathedral Kyamate COU on Sunday. Dennis Singahache, Ntungamo LC5 chairperson, was the guest of honour.

Bishop Ahimbisibwe promised to promote education to ensure that all Church of Uganda-founded schools perform well.

He commended Singahache for his good working relationship between the diocese and the Ntungamo district administration. Ahimbisibwe also hailed Ntungamo municipal council leaders headed by Mayor Jacob Kafureka for helping him make and develop the Diocese that glorifies God.

On the same day, the diocese launched Uganda Bible Society's new project of hand-written Bible, where 90 Christians participated after paying sh100,000 each.

The Rev. Can. Charles Kapson, the diocesan mission co-ordinator in the Bishop's office thanked Christians who supported them and purchased a public address system (of Yamaha Music type) worth sh40m. He said the system helps in spreading the gospel.

The function was attended by other Bishops, including Rt.Rev.Dan Zoreka (Kinkizi Diocese), Bishop (Emeritus-Ankole Diocese) Rt. Rev. Elisha Kyamugambi and Bishop Dr. George Bagamuhunda (Kigezi Diocese).
