36-year-old man commits suicide

RUBANDA - Police in Rubanda district are investigating circumstances under which a 36-year-old man, allegedly committed suicide.

According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi Policeperson, the deceased identified as Hebert Turyamureba was found hanging dead in his sitting room on Sunday in Rutoma village, Mpungo parish, Hamurwa sub-county in Rubanda.

"It's alleged that the deceased, who had chased his wife and children few days back was alone in the house. He did not surface the morning hours of Sunday so the herdsman from his mother's home in the neighbourhood decided to check on him only to find him hanging dead," Maate said.

He added that the deceased must have hanged himself on Saturday night, adding that the when Police were notified, they visited the scene and inquiries to establish the truth of the matter have been initiated.
