Mbarara rally is the first even of the National Rally Championship (NRC) and it attract the country’s top crews.
Rally driver Ambrose Byona has vowed to give top drivers including three time national rally champion Ronald Ssebuguzi a run for their money in the Mbarara rally that starts January 26 to 28.

"I have been driving a Mitsubishi Evo9 and you have seen my speed. Now that I have upgraded to the Evo10, watch out in Mbarara," Byona said in an interview.
"Ssebuguzi and group should watch out for me this season."
The Hima Cement ambassador also disclosed that he has lent the Evo9 to rally driver Godfrey Aine.
However, Byona will face a tough challenge from other drivers such as Arthur Blick Jr., Unisan Bakunda, Kephar Walubi, Dr. Ashraf Ahmed, Duncan Mubiru, NRC Defending champion Christakis Fiditis and Mbarara rally 2017 winner Omar Mayanja.
