Rupiny gives fans Christmas gifts

David Wod Mal, the station manager for Radio Rupiny said every year, they give back to community during Christmas, Easter, Eid, and independence.

Radio Rupiny FM, a Vision Group radio station based in Gulu has fed its 30 listeners by giving them Christmas hampers  

The 30 listeners given chicken, 2kilo grams of rice, 1.5 litre of cooking oil worth sh1.5m

David Wod Mal, station manager Radio Rupiny said every year they give back to community during Christmas, Easter, Eid, and independence to bring listeners closer to them.

He said it is also a way of thanking their listeners for listening to radio Rupiny

Nancy Atimango, promotion officer radio Rupiny said the 30 listeners were lucky winners who entered the draw after predicting Radio Christmas cup 2017 frequently.

She said the listeners were asked to predict each match by sending their prediction to 8338 where over 500 people predicted and 30 lucky listeners where chosen and given hampers.

"We organised this as our corporate social responsibility of giving back to our listeners, being in touch with them, interact so that people in community can also celebrate Christmas as they listen to our programs", she remarked

Lilly Adong a resident of Pece division who benefited from the Christmas hampers said it reduced her budget of buying other items for Christmas as most of the foods have been given to her by Rupiny.

She said she will use the money meant for buying cooking oil, rice and chicken to buy soda and keep it for New Year budget.

Charles Okot, a resident of Lakwana Sub County in Omoro district who won the Christmas hampers said Radio Rupiny has helped him to reduce his expenses.

He said he will only buy clothes for his wife and children as the food has been catered for by Rupiny.

Okot appeals to radio Rupiny to continue giving back to community to help listeners who cannot afford to buy items for Christmas.
